Company foundation
Josef Ilmer, the son of a Vinschgau blacksmith, founds the sole proprietorship "Ilmer Josef" in Tschars and deals with the production of wheelbarrows, concrete mixers and general locksmith work.
After intensive development work, the first motorised rotary mower is delivered.
In addition to the mobile Ideal, the first mounted rotary mower "JWO" with adjustable swing disc is manufactured. The first employees are hired.
The demand for Ilmer machines increases and the product range is expanded accordingly.
The first forklift with lateral bin fixation and the new rear loader with self-levelling technology are brought to series maturity. The powerful wood splitter rounds off the range.
As a second mainstay, fruit tractors of the Holder brand are sold under the new company name "Ilmer & Götsch OHG".
The two sons Walter and Oswald become partners in the newly founded company "Ilmer Josef & Söhne".
The 1000th motorised mulcher is produced and sold.
"JWO" becomes "IWO"
The range of rotary mowers is revised and modularized. For the first time, models with two swing arms can also be offered.
Development of a dealer network
Cooperation with dealers in South Tyrol, Trentino, Styria and Lake Constance is intensified.
Simple technology in perfection!
The rotary mowers are developed further and the new M2 series is created. This rotary mower with hydraulic side shift impresses with its simple technology and enormous cutting performance.
The two sons take the company over completely and change the company name into "Ilmer Walter und Oswald OHG". Paint shop and production are expanded and modernized.
With the foundation of the company "Ilmer Maschinenbau GmbH", the family business is handed over to the third generation. The company logo is slowly taking on its current form.
In addition to agricultural machinery a new market segment is being developed. Various anchor models as well as components for supporting structures and hail protection are offered.
Milestones!
Constant further development pays off! The thousandth forklift truck is delivered.
Fresh breeze!
Oliver Ilmer takes over "Ilmer Maschinenbau GmbH" and implements his visions. A new, fresh brand identity is developed, new markets are opened up, the production is modernized; a new warehouse with 450m² is built. A total of 15 employees are now employed.
New machine generation!
The product range is considerably extended and new models celebrate their premiere. All rotary mowers are intensively further developed: Extreme cutting performance, more drive and uncomplicated maintenance! To underline the progress, all machines will shine in yellow-red in the future.
Starting signal!
Start of the three-year conversion and expansion work of the entire company. The old building substance is completely renewed; the production has to be transferred to a nearby building.
Finally!
Extension and conversion work has been completed; the new halls and offices are being occupied. A total of 28 employees are now employed.
Mechanical weed control!
In order to offer herbicide-free solutions as well, the development of tool carrier arms and various implements for mechanical weed control is being accelerated. The vine-stem cleaner and the inter-row line mower are examples of innovative solutions for which patents have been successfully registered. In 2023, the range is completed with the addition of the power harrow, thus providing an even wider range of environmentally friendly options for orchards and vineyards.
